How to Tweak The Visual Effects of Your Computer
Newer versions of Windows offer a lot of new features. These features are designed to provide the user with the friendliest interface that he could use. Not only are they user-friendly, they also possess stunning graphics and visual effects. However, the truth is, albeit its unnoticeable to most of the users, these features eat away some of the processing speed and memory of your computer. This in turn slows down your computer when it comes to displaying the menus. The problem grows exponentially when used on old computers, wherein the menus takes longer to respond than usual. Of course you’d want to find ways on how you can speed up the menu display of your computer. The fastest, safest and easiest thing to do is by tweaking the visual effects of Windows.
Follow the following steps and you’re on your way to speeding up your menu display:
First, click the Start button on the lower left corner of your screen (windows logo for Vista), then right-click ‘My Computer’ icon. Click on Properties and then choose the ‘Advanced’ tab. Next, click on the Settings button in the Performance area and the Performance Options box should appear. On the Visual Effects Tab you should remove the check that before the Fade or slide menus into view. After which you just need to click on OK. Close the System Properties box by clicking on OK and you’re done. It’s that fast and simple. No need to seek professional help, or even call technical support since you can do it all by yourself now. After this, Windows will be showing the menus that you click on instantly. With that said, this is one of the easiest computer configurations anyone can do by themselves. Now you possess the knowledge on how to speed up the menu display for your computer.
You will notice a drastic change when it comes to your computers performance. With this, you’ll be glad that you have sacrificed a little bit of the visual appearance feature to give way to an enhanced speed up menu display. All in all, the slight change in Window’s visual appearance isn’t that noticeable when compared to your computer’s speed and performance. Given a choice, which one would you pick: Performance or appearance. For my self, I’d pick performance above anything else. It’s the rule of thumb for computer enthusiast!
