The steps of driver installation
Installing driver is an essential step after installing a new OS for a new machine. Though Microsoft’s operating system, higher than Windows XP , already comes with drivers for most hardware, it is very necessary to install the latest drivers for getting the best performance. The reasonable steps of driver installation as follows:
1. You should patch Service Pack (SP) to your OS after having been installed a new OS.
We know that the driver directly confronts the operating system and hardware, so we should first solve the operating system with SP patch compatibility issues . After that, we can ensure a seamless operating system and driver combination. Windows system can download the latest patch from Microsoft’s official website. Of course, you can download it through third-party tools.
2. Install motherboard chipset
Motherboard-driven mainly used to turn on the motherboard chipset built-in features and characteristics. That is,Motherboard chipset drivers refer only to the driver(Motherboard chipset driver can identify the corresponding chip board, and automatically install the appropriate Inf file to reflect the functional characteristics of the chipset, such as PCI and ISAPNP services in support of the AGP,SATA,USB,IDE/ATA33/ATA66/ATA100 support for PCIe support, etc.), but the motherboard with integrated sound card, and other equipment will also need to install the corresponding driver. A description of the present, most motherboards with NVIDIA chipsets, the driver package built a sound card, network card and other integrated device drivers, do not need to install the user.
3. Install DirectX drivers
Here is recommended to install the latest version, Vista and higher than the current system, built-in DirectX 10 version, but gamers need to install the appropriate version of DirectX 9.
4. Install video card driver
The graphics on issues such as sound cards, network cards and other equipment in front of, because after installing graphics card drivers, drivers not only provide a more comfortable user interface, but also reduce the chance of a black screen crash.Note that the installation of video drivers and then reboot the system after the recommendation to conduct other operations.
5. Install other device drivers such as network cards, sound card plugged into motherboard.
6. Install printers, scanners and other peripheral drivers
The last topic is the keyboard, mouse, monitor and other equipment that also has a dedicated driver, especially some big brands. While these devices can be correctly identified and use the system, the corresponding driver is installed, not only can improve the stability and performance, but also get some special effects, to facilitate different users.
Such as the Microsoft mouse driver IntelliPoint, not only to redefine their own mouse buttons for each function, but also adjust the mouse speed.Especially gamers is recommended to install the corresponding mouse drive
So if you have drivers for these products, then do not waste, installed them on it.
You have drivers for these products, then do not waste, installed them on it.

Steps for Stopping Hackers, Crackers and Spyware??
Mar 12th
Steps for Stopping Hackers, Crackers and Spyware??
Do you think a router or firewall makes you safe from hackers? Not necessarily. Do you think they won’t attack you because your business is so small? Don’t count on it. Hackers might grab your IP (Broadband address “IP”) to hack others, store illegal information or test the latest trojan.
The checklist that follows will help you protect yourself against determined hackers and the many problems they can cause.
Create a written security policy. If you own your own business and have employees, tell them in writing what they can and cannot do on the Internet. Employees should know ahead of time that downloading music, movies and the like will get them into trouble…and in some situations, can be illegal and you could be responsible! And, of course they should be mindful of the fact that downloads can carry hidden viruses.
Do quarterly or monthly vulnerability assessments. More than 300 new vulnerabilities aka bugs in software/hardware arise every month and any that you fail to fix will provide an open door for hackers. With freeware and commercial tools (nessus.org, eeye.com, qualys.com) readily available, it’s foolhardy to skip this step.
Patch. Make sure you regularly download the most recent patches for your systems.
Build in redundancy: high-availability and WAN-WAN fail-over. Redundancy is always needed. You can’t rely on one connection to the internet or one firewall. If your firewall fails, it should fail-over to another firewall; if the broadband dies, it should fail-over to another broadband or dial-up connection. Think of this as insurance. Businesses need to run smoothly, and with technology costs dropping, it makes economic sense to use these safeguards to avoid the risk of losing customers or sales.
Divide Information into Groups. Internal hacking is even more popular than external hacking. If you have sensitive information on your servers, you might want to build separate zones for it behind your firewall. Everyone shouldn’t be able to see HR files or client information. Put your Web site in a separate zone behind your firewall too. Hackers can attack via an exposed Web site.
Filter content. This cuts down on liability and increases productivity. If your employees view certain Web sites, they may be creating risks of lawsuits, spyware and viruses. If they download something it could be a trojan, virus or other malware that could throttle down your business. And don’t just block questionable sites. Remember, most online purchases occur between 9AM and 11AM – prime time work hours. You could curb this and make online shopping opportunities a benefit instead of a right by allowing staff to surf during lunch hour but not during normal business hours. Most users waste an hour a day surfing the Internet, which could cost a company with 25 employees up to 0,000 a year in productivity.
Server/workstation Anti-Virus and Gateway/Firewall Anti-Virus. About 98% of businesses have AV on their servers and workstations. Make sure all your servers and workstations have updated AV as well as gateway AV, which is now available on most legitimate firewall solutions. Since viruses can shoot through the gateway, why not stop them there instead of letting them into your network where they could attack an unpatched on non-updated workstation. It pays to be paranoid
Use log reporting. Would you like to know where users are going, what type of bandwidth they’re using and who is hacking into your sites? Many tools can take syslogs and put them into graphic reports. With these reports, you can spot problems, such as excessive bandwidth use or visits to questionable sites, and
determine what to do about them.
Install anti-Spam and anti-Spyware programs. Spyware is out of control. A recent survey of 3 million computers found 83 million instances of Spyware, usually traceable to downloads from the Web. There are many fine anti-spam and anti-spyware solutions are available such as Stopzilla and SonicWALL. Make sure you have both and verify that they are constantly updated.
Secure your telecommuters and road warriors. They could be your weakest link. Hackers can crack the remote worker and traverse back into corporate. With SSL VPN (Secure Socket Layer Virtual Private Network), secure VPN clients and the low cost of a solid ICSA (Legitimately tested firewalls….ICSAlabs.com) firewall appliances, there is no reason not to be secure remotely.
Secure wireless access points. Wireless access points create huge vulnerability in most networks. What looks like a great firewall solution isn’t so great if it has a wireless router behind it. Wireless routers are easy to hack and they’re usually set up without security. Although most companies have policies banning wireless but it’s easy for employees to find rogue access. Secure wireless access points are available, and worth what they cost.
Updated ICSA firewalls. [did a few paragraphs before] Don’t think of the firewall as plug and play. It has to be constantly updated with firmware and signatures to thwart the latest attack, outbreak, and intruder. Most vendors have aggressive promotions for their newest firewalls and you should take advantage of them. Having an older solution, a freeware solution or a basic software solution that the vendor isn’t updating with firmware isn’t secure enough.
Install [OK? yes] intrusion prevention software [is this software (yes) or do you hire a specialist to handle it? In any case, please give a couple of examples]. Since no firewall can stop everything, intrusion prevention “IPS” and detection “IDS” are imperative. IPS/IDS solutions are usually updated rapidly and add another layer of protection to your environment. You need them for remote workers too. Basically, using them means hiring an outside team of security engineers [OK? si] to update your firewall and repel constant attacks.
To make it easy for you, here are some companies that have perfect internet security for small/medium businesses:
Good luck……fear the unknown.

Speed Up My Computer in 10 Easy Steps
Do you ever get frustrated because your computer runs too slow? Does it sometimes freeze requiring a system reset, or does it sometimes crash, meaning you lose valuable data? Don’t worry – below are ten easy steps you can take to get your computer working at its peak performance.
Hardware – check that all your hardware is connect properly and that the fans are dust free. You might want to take off the CPU fan and remove any dust buildup (desktop PC’s only). CPU overheating is one of the main causes of a computer freezing or involuntarily shutting down. Do this every 3 – 6 months Clean Up Temporary Files – the easiest most thorough way to do this is to use the fantastic free software called CCleaner. Temporary files if not periodically removed and left to accumulate on your system can clog things up and slow your computer down. Do this every week Remove any spyware from your computer because spyware / malware can really slow down your PC too. Currently, the best free software is ‘Malwarebytes Anti-Malware’ . The free version doesn’t have sceduled scans or real-time protection but it was remove any spyware currently on your PC. ‘Spybot Search & Destroy’ is totally free software that will remove most spyware too. Two of the best paid anti-spyware software are ‘Stopzilla’ and ‘Webroot Spy Sweeper’. Run your anti-spyware every week Remove any viruses from your computer as these will slow it down, cause it to crash or even destroy the file system. The best free anti-virus is ‘Avast Anti-Virus’ or ‘AVG Anti-Virus’: Run your anti-virus software every week Check your hard drive for errors. In Windows XP, go to My Computer > right click on the C drive > select properties > click on the tools tab > click on the check now button under error checking. Reset Windows and a check will be done during boot up. Run this check every 3 months Remove any unwanted / un-used programmes from your computer. Go to your control panel > click on add or remove programs > select the programmes you want to remove from the list and click on remove. Run this check every 3 – 6 months, depending on how much new software you install (you may also want to remove non-essential items from your desktop too) Disable any unnecessary background processes from running when you’re not using them. Go to Start > click on the run command > type in msconfig > click on the startup tab > untick any programmes which aren’t required (the only process I have running is my anti-virus). By doing this, you should notice a significant improvement in the time it takes for your computer to boot up. Run this check every 3 – 6 months Clean your registry – the easiest most thorough way to do this is to use the fantastic free software called CCleaner at www.ccleaner.com . Do this every 3 months Defragment your hard drive – go to My Computer > right click on the C drive > select properties > click on the tools tab > click on defragment now > select the drive you want (if you have more than one hard drive partition) and then click on defragment. Do this every 3 months Keep at least 25% of your hard drive free – as your hard drive becomes fuller, it takes longer for applications to load because there is more information to sift through. The ways to keep your hard drive less than 75% full are: using an external hard drive to store non-essential files or; partitioning your hard drive and keeping one half for your operating system and applications and the other partition for files. A good way of partitioning your hard drive is to use the Norton Partition Magic software. Check your hard drive periodically to make sure it’s not above 75% full. You can do this by going to My Computer > right click on the C drive > select properties and look at the capacity pie chart.
N.B. you can search for all of the above mentioned software on Google or www.download.cnet.com.
So there you have a solution for a slow computer. Do all the above and I guarantee your computer will run much faster!
